It is early in the morning (or late, depending on how you want to look at it), of our 3rd day of our crowdfunding challenge extravaganza! We have already raised $185.

A ginormous thank you to Jeanne Mudd, Mark Homan, and two anonymous donors. We appreciate your donations and look forward to showing you what this rot thing is all about. Believe you me, you are doing the rot thing already!

Stay tuned for some fun challenges to come! That may or may not involve turkeys.

Day 1: November 20

Welcome to our crowdfunding challenge extravaganza! Our mission: raise $30,000 in 30 days. Be sure to share our GoFundMe link with your friends and family if you believe in food security.

Did you know 40% of our food produced in the USA goes to the landfill? Share our story if this is not okay with you!

Campaign Overview

Do you believe every family has the right to be food secure? So do we.

Know Hunger, Know More
aims to transform food waste into food secure communities. We need your support. For the next 30 days, we will fundraise to get our compost operation up and running as soon as possible.

It should be a given that children, grandma, grandpa, parents, and loved ones gathered around the dinner table will not go to bed hungry.

1 in 4 families in Wayne County is food insecure.
30% of our waste can be composted. 30% wasted resource.

Food waste happens at every level of food production, transportation, resale, and even in the kitchen. 40% of our produced food in America is sent to the landfill.

Food rescue is the key to completing a food security system. Now, food is on a one-way train to the landfill. If we send food scraps round-trip to the compost pile, the return trip is in the form of nutrient-rich soil for farmers and revenue for local food businesses.

The best part is, we can all do the little rot thing, and have a BIG impact.

Join us for phase one: Compost. #WeDoTheRotThing and so can you, it’s easy! Support local, fresh, accessible food for Wayne County. Donate today.  $1 helps, $100 helps.

Donate today, do the rot thing in your kitchen tomorrow.  #DotheRotThing

Your dollars support the operation of our compost collection and redistribution to our local partners.
